Natural STone Types

LIMESTONE is a sedimentary stone that comes in a variety of earthen colours, textures and finishes. Used to create beautiful yet durable floor and wall tiles, rare Antique Reclaimed limestone is also available.

MARBLE is a metamorphic stone with a crystal-like texture created by heat and pressure. Incredibly hard, durable and desirable, marble floor tiles are the natural choice for high traffic areas and have an inherent natural beauty.

TRAVERTINE is a type of limestone deposited by hot mineral springs. Breathtakingly beautiful, travertine flooring is available in a wide range of colours and finishes including honed, ribbed, vein cut and polished.

SANDSTONE is a sedimentary stone with a rough texture. Hardwearing and handsome, it is perfect for kitchens, bathrooms, entryways and patios. English antique and antique reclaimed stone tiles are also available.

SLATE is a fine-grained metamorphic stone formed under tremendous pressure. Split into thin layers, slate is extremely durable and slate floor tiles are ideal for high traffic areas.

GRANITE is an igneous stone that is beautiful yet extremely hard, and resistant to marking. Available polished, rib cut and flamed in colours from white through to emerald and black, granite floor tiles are great for high traffic areas.

TERRACOTTA is formed from clay and fired in a kiln. Terracotta tiles aren’t as hard as stone tiles but they are still highly durable. Lapicida also offer a range of new and Antique Reclaimed terracotta tiles.

ONYX is a cryptocrystalline form of quartz. Featuring exotic and intricate bands of virtually any colour, its transluscent qualities give a highly dramatic look when 'back lit.
